Girls Varsity Softball vs. Bow High School

Cougars Lose: 5.00 - 6.00
The Cougars headed to Bow this afternoon and fought tough in an extra inning game that went a full 14 innings. The Cougars scored 3 runs in the 4th inning after a Kendall Sullivan single, Lily Mandel was hit by a pitch, Ashley Cronin reached on a fielder's choice, Opale Barrick hit a single, and Hannah Beisang hit a single plating 2 runs and courtesy runner Makayla Durgin stole home on a passed ball. The Cougars scored 2 more in the 7th after Avery Moore hit a single, Morgan Bemont reached on an error, Sullivan plated Moore with a single and Mandel plated Bemont on a single. Bow tied the game in the bottom of the 7th with an out of the park homer and the game continued until the bottom of the 14th, when an error and a missed call allowed a Bow run to score.
Lily Mandel threw the complete 14 innings facing 56 batters, allowing 6 runs on 7 hits, 4 errors, striking out 8 and walking 5. She threw to catchers Opale Barrick and Avery Moore.
Leading the offense for CV was Opal Barrick who was 3-6 with a run scored, Avery Moore 3-7 with a run scored, and Kendall Sullivan 4-7 with an RBI. Lily Mandel helped herself going 2-5 with a walk and a hit by pitch.
The Cougars are now 9-6 with one game left to play. They will travel to Milford on Thursday 5/25 for a 4pm game.

Cougars Lose: 5.00 - 6.00

Cougars Win: 11.00 - 4.00
The Cougars took the field tonight on a windy cool day to celebrate their 6 seniors. Senior Lily Mandel was on the mound firing to Avery Moore. The Cougars jumped out to an early lead scoring 3 in the first inning as lead-off Samantha Henderson hit a single and stole second before Morgan Bemont singled and scored Henderson. Ashley Cronin reached on an error and scored Bemont and after a single by Hannah Beisang and a single by Olivia Riley, Cronin scored as well. The Cougars scored 2 more in the 2nd when Bemont and Kendall Sullivan reached and Cronin plated them both. The Cougars scored 2 more in the 3rd when Hannah Beisang hit a double and scored on a Riley single and Riley scored on a single by Henderson. Henderson scored again in the 5th and 6th and Bemont and Moore each scored in the 6th as well. The result was an 11-4 Cougar victory. The Cougars had 11 runs on 13 hits tonight.
Mandel went all 7 innings tonight, facing 29 batters allowing 4 runs on 6 hits and 3 errors. She struck out 12 and didn't allow a walk and moves to 9-4 on the season!
The Cougars will host John Stark at 7pm on Friday, May 19th, at Adam's Playground.

Cougars Win: 8.00 - 6.00
The Cougars traveled to Opechee Park today to take on the Sachems of Laconia. The Cougars jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 3rd after Avery Moore walked, stole 2nd, and Kendall Sullivan hit her in with a right side single. The sachems answered with 2 of their own in the bottom of the 4th and the Cougars answered with 2 in the top of the 5th after Avery Moore walked, Sam Henderson singled to score Moore and Sullivan singled to plate Henderson. The Sachems scored 1 in the 6th to tie it at 3 and both teams scored 1 in the 7th to push to the 8th. Henderson reached in the 7th on a single, stole 2nd, and again Sullivan hit her in with a right side single. The Cougars scored 4 runs in the 8th. Opale Barrick, Avery Moore, Sam Henderson and Morgan Bemont all had singles and Bemont got the 3 RBI's on 2 wild pitches and her single to right center. Lily Mandel then plated Bemont. The sachems scored 2 in the 8th but it wasn't enough and the Cougars won 8-6. Kendall Sullivan was 3-5 with 3 RBI, Morgan Bemont had 3 RBI, Samantha Henderson was 3-5 and scored 3 runs as did Avery Moore. Mandel pitched all 8 innings, facing 36 batters, walking 0, and striking out 3. She gave up 6 runs (1 earned) on 9 hits and 4 errors.
The Cougars move to 6-3 on the season with a 6 game win streak, and will travel to Hanover on 5/10.

Cougars Win: 21.00 - 7.00
The Cougars went on an unexpected trip to Souhegan tonight to play their home game. Lily Mandel took the mound and pitched 3 innings facing 10 batters and allowed no hits or walks and struck out 3. Olivia Riley made her varsity debut on the mound pitching to Opale Barrick and went 2 innings facing 18 batters and giving up 7 runs on 2 hits and 8 walks. She stuck out 2.
The Cougars jumped out scoring 2 runs in the 1st, added 6 more in the 2nd and 3rd and had 7 in the 4th. Samantha Henderson was 4-5 with 3 singles, a double, 4 runs and 4 RBI, while Morgan Bemont was 1-1 with a single and 4 runs on 2 walks and being hit. Kendall Sullivan had 5 RBI and scored 2 runs and Avery Moore was 1-2 with a 3 RBI in the park home run and 3 runs scored.

Cougars Win: 5 - 0
The Cougars traveled to Pelham today to face off against the Pythons. Lily Mandel was on the mound throwing to Avery Moore. The Cougars jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first and that was all they would need to take the victory. Samantha Henderson, in the lead off spot, started the game with a double up the middle and came to 3rd on a passed ball before Morgan Bemont plated Henderson on a deep Sac fly to center field. Lily Mandel also had a double in the inning but her courtesy runner, Makayla Durgin, was stranded on 2nd. The Cougars scored 1 run in the 2nd-4th innings and the final run in the 6th to capture the 5-0 victory. The Cougars had 12 hits on the day. Senior Captain Morgan Bemont was 3-3 with 3 RBI, Mandel was 2-3 with a single and double and Durgin scoring her run. Avery Moore was 3-3 with an RBI and 2 runs scored and Ashley Cronin hit a double and had an RBI. Brynn Frosch and Emma Cronin also had singles in the game.
Mandel pitched 7 innings facing 27 batters and giving up 0 runs on 5 hits and an error. She left 6 stranded on base including striking our the last 2 batters of the game with bases loaded. Mandel struck out 8 total and walked 1 in her shutout and her magnificent command on the mound continues.
The Cougars will travel to Hollis-Brookline on Monday May 1st.

Cougars Win: 12 - 0
CV softball team took the field against Plymouth last Friday night. Lily Mandel was on the mound throwing to Avery Moore. Mandel threw a NO HITTER after 5 innings and the Cougars won their 2nd straight game by the mercy rule.
The Cougars bats were on fire!! Sam Henderson led off going 3-4 with 3 singles and 3 runs scored, Morgan Bemont went 3-4 with 2 runs and 2 RBI. Lily Mandel was clean up and was 2-2 with a pair of singles and a pair of Sac Flys resulting in a pair of RBI's. Hannah Beisang, Ashley Cronin, and Avery Moore each had a pair of singles and Olivia Riley, Madi Hatt, Oaple Barrick, and Emma Cronin all added a hit as well. Every player in the CV line up had a hit resulting in 18 hits on the day!
The Cougars travel to Pelham to face the Pythons on Tuesday April 25th with a 12pm start time.

Cougars Win: 20 - 0
The Cougars drove to Lebanon this afternoon for a 4pm game. Lily Mandel took the mound pitching to Avery Moore. The Cougars stayed quiet in the first going down in order on 3 ground balls and held Leb with 2 K's and a foul ball pop up to Olivia Riley at 1st base. The Cougars broke the game open in the 2nd scoring 13 runs on 8 hits, 4 walks, and 3 hit batters. Leb again went down in order. The third went by scoreless and Leb went down in order. The Cougars scored another 7 runs in the 4th on 3 hits, 4 walks, and a hit batter and again Leb went down in order and Mandel all of a sudden was in the 5th with a perfect game. The game ended after 5 with a K, line drive to first, caught by Riley, and line to Mandel on the mound and for the first time in over 10 years...Conval had a PERFECT GAME with a 20-0 win. Mandel pitched to 15 batters all were recorded outs and she had 10 K's on the night!
Conval offensive leaders were Sam Henderson who went 2-4 with a single, double, walk, 2 runs and 4 RBI. Morgan Bemont went 3-5 with a pair of singles, a double, 2 runs and 4 RBI. Ashley Cronin and Olivia Riley each had a pair of singles, a pair of runs, and 2 RBI's. Emma Cronin reached 3 times and scored 3 runs and Avery Moore hit a triple, scored 3 runs, and had 4 RBI.
The Cougars will host Plymouth this coming Friday 4/21 at 4pm.

Cougars Lose: 2 - 8
The Cougars took the field tonight, for their first day outside this season, against the defending State Champions Coe-Brown. Senior Lily Mandel was on the mound pitching to Sophomore Catcher Avery Moore. The Cougars were quiet through the first 2 innings but with 2 outs in the 3rd inning, Senior centerfielder, Samantha Henderson hit a single up the middle and the inning still had life. Junior right fielder, Hannah Beisang hit a high fly ball that the CB left fielder misplayed and ended up on 3rd with the first RBI of the game. Senior Captain, Morgan Bemont followed and laced a single to plate Beisang. The Cougars went down in order for the remaining innings but fought hard until the very end, losing the game 8-2. CB scored 3 each in the 4th and 5th and 2 in the 7th.
Mandel pitched the complete game facing 35 batters, allowing 8 runs on 10 hits. She struck out 4 and walked 1. The Cougars had 6 fielding errors on the night and only had 2 hits one each from Henderson and Bemont.
The Cougars travel to John Stark, the defending State Runner-up, on Wed 4/12 for a 4pm start.
